St
Margaret's Church - Wychling Kent |
20th
April 2013 |

St Margaret's church lies back
off of the road from Lenham to Doddington across the top of the North
Downs. Hidden on the edge of woodland which themselves have seen reports
of unexplained sightings of red eyed creatures, the church itself is a
mix of medieval and the spookiest side of Victorian Gothic although is
some of its allure just the atmospheric location? |

The Investigation | ||
Aim:
To investigate reports of paranormal activity at Wychling Parish Church. Background: The area around Wychling and the North Downs has been subject to various reports of paranormal activity and unexplained sightings including strange beasts. In pursuit of these sightings at various locations Ghost Connections opted to spend some time on this night at St Margaret's church. Apparatus: Video camera- Team: Paddy Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual information
investigate the background to alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue. The team have investigated this location before and know the area well. Initially entering the churchyard as dusk settled they spent a little
time there before a wander around the woods adjoining the churchyard and
a return to the church itself. |

Results | ||
The team had only walked into the fenced churchyard
by a few metres when the events of the evening would start to unfold. After a few moments having a look around the churchyard the team left and explored the tracks into the woods themselves. Pausing at a crossing of tracks deep within the woods the team were all conscious of a sense of being watched. Various sounds were heard close to the team but no source was seen. It was decided that a return to the area of the church was warranted and the team made their way back to the churchyard via the car to equip with warmer clothing as by now it was become dark and colder. Paddy sees a localised mist near the trees in the south west corner
of graveyard. The team took a further break by the car and equipped with video and warmer dry clothes for a longer session. Returning to the same area at the west of the church the decision is taken to open with a seance circle and protection called for. The energy flows quickly and the male comes immediately close next to Graham and Dave and then retreats and with that the atmosphere lifts. Dave saw a disheveled, rag wearing woman run out of the trees screaming
up to the team and then away around the north side of the church. |

Conclusions | ||
This location is always an interesting one to
investigate due to the apparent unusual atmosphere surrounding the Church
and Churchyard. Various noises, particularly in the wooded area surrounding the church could not be identified and could well have been any number of creatures in the undergrowth. The mist seen by Paddy in one area of the churchyard could have been a localised mist in the remote part of the hills that we were on, however upon examination of the area no such natural mist could be found despite other members of the team agreeing that it was there initially. It could not be located with a torch or by further examination. No one else saw the skewbald horse that Paddy described. There was nothing
in the area of the sighting to confuse with a horse. We cannot explain
the sighting. Although some unusual occurrences were witnessed we cannot unfortunately one hundred percent attribute these to anything paranormal but as always this site is definitely worthy of further investigation. During our time here there was information forthcoming to the team of
a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based
investigations we would not publish such observations, however, previous
information is held on a separate database, which may prove interesting
when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss
this information please email
us. |
