Undisclosed 14th Manor House - Visit 18

24th March 2012

Parts of this building date back to the fourteenth century. Currently undergoing redevelopment our options on the parts of the site we can investigate vary from visit to visit due to how the restoration and redevelopment work is progressing.
This time we found there was still limited access to the rear oast building, a building we could only spend time in during our first investigations. We had good results before so decided to spend our time there, although access to the first floor was dangerous so we remained on the ground floor at all times. Later on we decided to move and investigate in the house........and to get warm.

Investigation:
Using scientific methods combined with spiritual theory, we were to spend time in the areas mentioned attempting to entice and then record resultant paranormal phenomena.

Results
Session 1: Oast

Graham didn't like the heavy atmosphere in the area we were seated.

David and Graham hear a noise from behind David's camcorder.

More taps are heard.

Ian said he felt apprehensive, Graham and others agreed with him.

A bat can be seen and heard on the video footage.

A loud click is heard on Ian's camcorder audio as though next to the camcorder but not heard or commented on by the team.

A draft is commented on by the team.

Dave called out asking for a response from anyone else who may have been with us but there was no response.

Paddy thought someone was in an adjacent doorway to his right, so much so he reached out thinking he would touch someone. At the same time an apparent drop in temperature was felt by some of the team. Dave tried again to ask if anyone was with us but again there was no response.

It was very dark despite an amount of light coming through the window. It was difficult to see other members of the team across the room. Paddy attempted to cast a shadow to test if this could be seen but it could not.

Paddy, Graham, and now Kim and Dave agreed that there was a change in the atmosphere and it now felt more oppressive, at the same time Ian felt a gust of cold air across his face. Dave called out again this time it his request was met by a tap coming from behind Kim. Dave asked for a repeat and then received a concentrated blast of cold air across his face.

The temperature dropped, the team were by now very cold and it was decided to take a break to warm up.

Session 2: Manor kitchen

Once again we sat about the room and made ourselves as comfortable as we could.

Dave called out asking for a response and some faint sounds, like movement, were heard by the door. Dave asked for a repeat this was not forthcoming.

The team comment on how there used to be a great deal of recordable noises but how recent visits had produced nothing.

Dave and Ian tried calling out but there was only one noise heard in response, this was explained as being from a distant train.

Graham tried calling out, this was met by a tap identified as coming from Paddy's chair.

A while went by during which nothing occurred to comment on.

Conclusions
Nothing that occurred during our time spent in the oast provided us with sufficient results on which to base any conclusions. A few taps were heard, some recorded but most not. A bat was later seen on the video footage with cannot be discounted as a cause for some of the noises heard. Drafts felt by the team would be expected due to the building being largely open to the elements. The apparent change in the atmosphere of a place can be brought on by a person’s own apprehension whilst in a cold, dark place late at night. It's a natural response. But given that we are used to these conditions it is a little unusual for some of us to feel this way. However, does not in any way constitute evidence.

Very little occurred once the team moved into the house, and it was because of this it was decided to draw an early end to this night’s investigation.

During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us.

Thanks
Many thanks as always to the owners of this property for allowing our continued study.
