The Investigation | ||
As is now our custom we arrived and set up our
equipment fairly quickly and got straight into the investigation. Dave and
Paddy were to spend some time in the by now infamous outbuilding, Kim and
Ian ventured off somewhere new, the Victorian wing, where they chose to
carry out their vigil in the larger rear bedroom. As before the two pairs
were to swap locations and compare results. Kim sat in the base of a fitted wardrobe with her voice recorder running whilst Ian sat on the floor facing the door and a large full length mirror on the wall, Ian's camcorder was set in the corner of the room facing them across the room. No soon as they had sat down Ian saw a light flash across the chimney breast, like headlights of a car going by outside, but there were no roads or cars to produce this. Both Ian and Kim took turns speaking aloud asking for activity and during their time here they commented on how very quiet it was, no natural noises could be heard meaning any noise at all could be of interest. Kim heard a bang from the landing outside the room and had a very uneasy feeling that someone was out there. Ian commented on seeing a red pinprick of light move across the top of the mirror, which would possibly place it above his and Kim's heads or may be in front of the mirror itself, by the door. After a while Kim heard some rustling coming from the far end of the landing so they agreed that there was nothing remarkable about the bedroom but felt the need to move and explore the landing and other rooms. As they did so they both complained of dry sore throats and a sense of unease as opposed to the bedroom, that felt very comfortable. Whilst along the corridor Ian felt very cold and his hairs stood on ends a number of times. There were no responses despite further calling, but they were both sure they were not alone while they walked through the other bedrooms. Meanwhile in the outbuilding Both Paddy and Dave were sitting in the usual spot on the first floor where the stairs came up, both had their camcorders and voice recorder's running. Dave noticed a static type click heard coming from by the stairs, but Paddy thought it came from by him. Further clicks were heard from the same vicinity, some after requests. Paddy thought he saw movement in the shadows by the stairs and cupboard on top of the stairs. At a later point Dave became very sleepy and relaxed. At the same time Paddy noticed Dave's condition and associated it with what he thought was a man standing to Dave's left with his right hand on the nape of Dave's neck. Paddy asked whoever this was to leave Dave and approach himself at which point Paddy felt a very cold sensation come over him, Dave immediately became more awake and alert. After a brief break the two pairs swapped, Dave and Paddy went to the same bedroom Kim and Ian had been in. After a wander and taking some photographs they settled down. There was an loud creak heard that could not be located due the acoustics in the room, there were also a series of repetitious clicks heard by Dave that could only be compared to something coming from an instrument of some kind. Paddy heard what sounded like a woman exclaiming “oh” in surprise. Little else occurred Kim and Ian were in the outbuilding. They moved Dave and Paddy's chairs into the corner overlooking the stairs to have a view of the entire room, Ian's camcorder was put at the top of the stairs facing into the room at them and had half an hours tape left to run, which they decided to let run out. Kim's voice recorder was running. It was not long before Ian turned on his torch towards the doorway to the adjacent room as he thought he saw someone there. Kim saw a whisp of light move towards Ian's camcorder. Then both Ian and Kim saw the same same red pinprick of light flash over the stairs. More whisps of light were seen around the room by both Ian and Kim at the same time. There were no noises or creaks to be heard, which was odd given the amount of natural noise we had encountered before in this timber building. They discussed how we may be too quick to dismiss the noises we here and class them as natural. Kim saw movement at the top of the stairs, a shadow moving from the top stair along the floor level. Ian's tape had ended so he continued asking questions hoping to get verbal answers from anyone there recorded on Kim's voice recorder. Then Ian asked for a response from what we had thought was a little boy we have encountered before, Ian felt an all over rush of coldness making his entire body hair stand on end, then felt a sharp poke in his right ear. Surprised by this Ian asked for something else and almost immediately felt a sudden blow of cold air onto the right side of his face. He asked again only this time for what whatever/whoever was poking him to do it to Kim, and straight away received another poke in his right ear, much to Kim's amusement. Then Ian felt someone walk around the back of his chair. The chair was fairly close to the corner so someone would have to brush against him and the the chair, which is what happened. Ian felt and heard this motion and literally jumped out of his chair with surprise, laughing, asking who was it playing games? After this there was the sound of someone shuffling by Ian's right hand side, this was confirmed as Kim could hear it also. Kim was very aware of someone standing there, it was as though someone was there who had taken a bit of a liking to Ian! After a while we had a long break to discuss all our finding, then proceeded to a part of the grounds we shall refer to as “The Rose Garden”. We wanted to return here as on our first investigation Paddy and Kim saw a shadow moving. We positioned ourselves in the centre each facing out to cover every angle of the garden. We sat here for an hour but nothing was forthcoming. After a while more exploring the outside areas of the site we decided to call a close to the investigation. |

The Results | ||
The lights witnessed by Ian in the Victorian
part of the building could not be explained but sadly were not caught on
camcorder. The rustling heard by Kim along the landing could not be explained,
although there is a degree of debris on the floor that could easily have
been disturbed by a rodent of some kind, otherwise the area was unusually
silent. The area is very dusty which may have contributed to Kim and Ian's
sore and dry throats. The fact that Kim and Ian commented on how silent
the area was suggests that the creaks and taps heard by Dave and Paddy in
the same location may have more to them than simply natural noises. Sadly
these noises were not caught on our equipment but this area will be investigated
more thoroughly at a later date. The outbuilding once again provided for an interesting night, The taps and clicks heard by Dave and Paddy may be naturally occurring, but the fact that Kim and Ian heard no noise whatsoever (apart from some shuffling) was odd, as there has always been creaks and groans from the building. We have considered whether we may be dismissing such noises as naturally occurring far too easily? The shadows and movement seen by Paddy were not caught on camcorder, neither was the man Paddy saw holding onto Dave's neck. The physical sensations felt by Ian cannot be explained. We only have Kim, who witnessed that there was no one actually there to cause these, and Ian's testimony that these experiences were genuine and not fabricated in any way. Neither can we explain why Kim was aware of someone standing besides Ian The sensations felt by the team and to “sightings” described do not provide any credible evidence, but the psychology of such experiences does need to be investigated to understand why they occur. What is it that makes a person think they have seen, heard or felt such a thing? But it is certain that we do see and hear things on occasion that we cannot explain, and that are not captured by our equipment. We shall continue to report such events in our findings but would assure that these experiences are not considered by us to be evidential in anyway, unless such an event is caught on our equipment along with, and possibly linked to any accompanying phenomena. A certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us. Most of our camcorder footage, still photographs and voice recordings have been examined and nothing of note was found. |

Conclusions | ||
This time our results moved up a league as we had physical results that could not be explained, these occurred in what is fast becoming a surprising hot spot of activity. We also identified another area of the house worthy of further investigation, which we will be endeavouring to do over the forthcoming weeks. Our full conclusion will not be available until we have finished our investigation's at this venue, but after four nights spent here we are becoming more and more convinced that this venue is possibly going to give us the best chance we have had to date for capturing some very good credible evidence. | ||
